St. Ann’s Habitat for Humanity is a community of volunteers who work in partnership with five other Cobb Catholic churches and the homeowners to build one or more Habitat houses per year in Cobb County. Volunteer opportunities include house construction, supplying food for builds and staffing multiple fundraising events.

Learn about Habitat for Humanity, this year’s home build, and upcoming ministry fundraisers.  Whether you’re a long-term volunteer or just curious about getting involved, we’d love to see you there.

Directions & Parking

Parking will be at Sweetwater Mission, 6130 Hotel St, Austell

  • Leave the parking lot and turn LEFT on Line St.
  • At the end of the block, turn RIGHT on Bowden St.
  • The lot is 1 block up on the RIGHT

Start and Stop Time

Please plan to be at the build site by 7:45 am (anticipate the walk from the parking lot will take a few minutes).  This will give you time to sign in, make a stylish duct tape name tag, and meet/greet your fellow volunteers – all in time for the 8:00 am Morning Meeting.  We get the most work done in the mornings before the day warms up, so please arrive on time.

Stop Time varies, depending on the day’s activities.  Our goal is to finish by 2:30-3:00 pm.

We greatly appreciate your help cleaning up the site and putting away tools before heading home.

A Glimpse of What You Made Possible

Because of the rushed and unexpected nature of this year’s build, our volunteers didn’t have the opportunity to work alongside the homeowner as we usually do.  While that was disappointing, we didn’t want the moment to pass without sharing her story—and the impact your support still made.

“Genesis is a forklift operator at FedEx Freight who originally hails from New York City.  Driven by her faith and deep desire to positively influence others, she brings that same heart to her workplace by mentoring new colleagues.  Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors with her children, ages 15 and 11, and listening to podcasts focused on personal growth.

For Genesis, homeownership is about creating stability and a permanent foundation for her children.  Until now, Genesis and her kids shared one bedroom in a small home rented by her sister, where eight family members lived together.  This new home will give both families the space they need to thrive.

When Genesis learned she was approved for a Habitat home, she dropped to her knees in grateful prayer.  She is profoundly thankful to the sponsors, donors, and volunteers who made this blessing possible – one that will allow her family to settle in, grow, and build lasting memories for years to come.”
