"Living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is essential to a life of virtue; it is not an optional or a secondary aspect of our Christian experience."
— Laudato Si’, §217
Why Zero Waste?
Inspired by Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Si’, our parish is embracing Zero Waste as a concrete way to care for our common home. In Laudato Si’, we are reminded that the Earth “cries out to us because of the harm we have inflicted on her” (§2). As stewards of creation, we are called to respond—not just with words, but with action. That means making mindful choices about how we live, consume, and gather as a faith community.
This isn’t just about sustainability—it’s about living our faith with love and responsibility.
